Prayer Request

I put a bid in to clean an indoor mini golf place today. Pray if it is God's will I will get the job. The work would be Sat., Sun., and Mon. about four hours each day. I have to be done by 10am, so will have to arrive there about 6am. If I get this job I will only have to do one other cleaning job a week, and I already have three monthly jobs, so I would only need one more monthly job.

My schedule would like like this:

Sun. 6-10 clean / 10:30-12:30 church
Mon. 6-10 clean / 11-3 homeschooling / library after 3
Tues. no drive day / homeschooling
Wed. 10-2 homeschool / 3-5 homeschool co-op / 6-8 church
Thur. 9-12 clean / 1-4 homeschool
Fri. 11:30-12:30 doctor's / 1-2 visit Pop or Grandmother / 3-5 homeschool co-op
Sat. 6-10 clean / 5-10 babysit

This gives me three days off from work (Tues., Wed., and Fri.)
This gives me one no drive day a week.
This gives me about 16 hours homeschooling (plus the boys get another 4 hours a week at co-op.)
I would be working about 20 hours a week.
I would have Sat. 11-4 free.
I would have Sun. 1-pm free.

I could handle this (I think) (but will not enjoy getting up at 5:30am two-three days a week-lol.)

I need prayer

I want to ask for prayer. My ex husband's mother passed away on Friday. She was only 58 and died of breast cancer. It was pretty sudden. Please pray for my ex, Jose, and his entire family. They have not even to begun to process this loss.

But I need prayer as well. Seeing my ex again brings back so much pain. We have not even seen him in 2 years. (He lives in Florida and us in New Jersey.)

We were married on Sept. 1, 2002. We quickly moved to Kentucky for his work. I also quickly became pregnant with Joshua. Somewhere along the way he decided he did not want anymore children (he had two from his ex, plus I had Jason.) And with that in March of 2003 he told me he was done. It took me a month to realize what he was saying, so in April 2003, with me 36 weeks pregnant I returned back to NJ.

For a long time I waited for him to change his mind. He never did.

The honest truth is that I now know God did not intend for me to marry him, I just did it my way because I wanted to be married, and I thought I was in love. I just wasn't listening. God wanted to spare me all this pain.

But the way I feel being around him again is strange. My stomach does flips and I so easily forget all the pain. I go out of my way to be helpful and available.

I guess I will always have feelings for him as we were married and we have a son together. I would rather be friendly with him, than always fighting and hostile (as many who are divorced are.)

So I need prayer. Pray I would seek God for the love I long for, as I will never get it from my ex, and God's love should be all that matters. Pray for Josh who longs to have his dad be more of a part of his daily life. Pray I seek God's will in all my decisions, so that I can be a blessing to those around me without being a doormat.

Prayer request

Please pray as my church is planning a yard sale as a fundraiser for our new building project. The yard sale is scheduled for today and tomorrow, but as of today it is pouring, so the sale is cancelled. Pray that tomorrow the weather is clear and that the sale provides a much needed boost to our fundraising efforts.

Thanks! -Becky

Prayer Requests

Prayer Requests:

I am not sleeping at night due to some ankle pain and general discomfort with cast on. In turn I am very tired in the day time.

My ex mother in law, Miriam (Joshua's grandmother) has cancer that has spread over much of her body, they do not expect her to live much longer. She does not know the Lord.

Jason's dad after not calling for two months has starting calling again. Jason does not want to talk to him on the phone, but does want to see him. Pray for God's will. Pray for my son who is hurting over missing his dad. Pray for salvation for his dad, also named Jason, and his wife as well, her name is Donna.

My brother, Kevin is living in Ohio taking care of my grandmother. Pray for wisdom and strength for him. Pray he is blessed for putting his life on hold to do this.

My brother, Eric needs prayer as well. He is unemployed (he is a union carpenter.) In addition he and his girlfriend of 7 years broke up recently and he is not taking it well. He also has some health issues. And his dog, who is his best friend, is seriously ill. Mostly he does not know the Lord.

My mom needs prayer as she is trying to help my brother. In addition she is working two jobs (my stepfather, also a union carpenter is also unemployed.) My mom needs more time for herself and down time. Pray for blessings for her for all she does in my life. She is amazing!

Thanks so much!

proud of myself and prayer requests

Although I think I may have overdone it, I am proud of myself because today I spent all day downstairs. I did dishes (in a chair.) I got my own breakfast, lunch, and snack. I also made dinner (tacos.) My mom did have to help with that a bit. And I went to Josh's soccer game. This was great because he got to be goalie again. I didn't have my camera, but at least I got to see it.

I am in a bit more pain now (which is why I think I may have overdone it), but I feel accomplished.

Of course this pales in comparison to a day in my life when I am not on crutches, but it was a good day for me now since I am on crutches.

Continue to pray for blessings for my mom, stepfather, sister, and brothers, who are all really picking up the slack and doing what I can't (especially my mom!) Please also pray we all stay healthy at this time as well.
Also pray for blessing for all my friends and extended family who are also helping in one way or another. Especially Leighann, Monica, Cindy, Joanna, Brian, Gerri, & Eileen who are all helping drive Jason & Joshua to and from school and co-op. Pray for a hedge of protection around there vehicles as they drive my boys to and from activities.

Thanks for all your prayers! I am off to bed now.

sleep issues & prayer request

Both boys are once again asleep. Josh was asleep by 9:15 pm, Jason by 9:30pm.

Last night Josh got a full 11 hours of sleep, and Jason got 9 full hours, plus 2 more just laying in bed half asleep. PRAISE THE LORD!!!

It has been like this since last Monday (1 week ago.) Jason has been getting up early though, sometimes as early as 4:00am. Today he got up at 6:00am, plus he has been having weird dreams. I have to let the doctor know as this may be a bad side effect of the sleep medicine. But our nighttime battles that have lasted 3 hours are almost non existent. Last night Josh threw a fit that lasted exactly 2 minutes.

I have not known what to do with all this me time. Last night I spent almost an hour with God and was asleep by 10:30pm myself. I slept until 7:30am (after waking up at 7:00am to pray with Kristen, I went back to sleep until 7:30.) So I got 9 hours of sleep. Yippee!!!

I did not watch any tv or go on the computer at all yesterday. I want Sundays to be tv & internet free (and no shopping either), so we can relax, spend time with friends and family, and get ready for the week. Let's see how long that will last.

I also gave up two strongholds (things I was putting before God) this weekend. I needed to for a long time, but pray as today I have been already having withdrawal. I do not want to take these things back from God. I want to put Him first in all I do. But it is hard.

We convince ourselves these crutches get us through, but really they hold us back. God is what gets us through each and every day, and each and every joy and hardship. If we really trust in Him, we will see how much better His ways are. Believe me after I go to food or tv in time of trial, I feel no better in an hour. If I go to the Lord, my whole day is better.

Keep me in your prayers. Thanks!

I am having surgery and some venting

I will be having surgery on my ankle. It is scheduled for April 16th. I am scared, but mostly worried as it is hard enough to parent with two good ankles.

My kids have me so stressed out.

Jason has some special needs (he was born with), and he has some environmental stuff (his dad and I not being together, all the back and forth, my stress, etc.), but he also manipulates me. It is very hard to tell which is which and deal with each accordingly. I do not want to discipline him for something that he can't control (i.e. being overstimulated and needing a break), yet at times I think he uses that to get his way. AHHHH!!!

I feel like I am drowning. I don't know what to do.

Here is my ideal:
a week long vacation without kids to
2 days to clean entire house
3 days visiting a dear friend I miss very much
2 days resting and reading

Then I want a personal supernanny to live with us after that, a Christian one at that.

But instead I will have surgery and hope that my kids don't get any more out of control.

The good news is that I am having surgery, there is hope my ankle will not be in so much pain after it heals, and I do not have any out of pocket expenses (yet.)

Please keep me in prayer, especially on April 16th when I will have the surgery. Also pray for my mom who is so busy yet still helps me so much!

Prayer Request

Two years ago on Feb. 14, 2007 I slipped and broke my right ankle. It never healed properly and it still hurts almost daily. It is not excruciating pain, just annoying. It also limits some of the things I can do (sitting on floor playing a certain way, etc.)
I finally got the place where I fell to agree to pay the $15,000 surgery bill to have a pin put in. Now my dilemma is should I really have the surgery. My own doctor said there is a 50% chance that I will still be in slight pain. Some people I have talked to say the pin is great, they are fine. Others regret having had a pin and want it removed.

So I am in prayer about what to do. I have an appointment with my doctor on Tues. at 2:50pm.

If I have the surgery it means 3 months of being in a cast (hard, then soft.) Which means no driving for me. Also I will be unable to work (but I am getting money to cover my cost of living.)

If I do not have the surgery I will still get the money, as it is for pain & suffering not the actual surgery, so I really am unsure what to do. I would hate to spend $15,000 and 3 more months of my life to feel the same as I do now. But I also would like to feel better than I do.

Please pray that I clearly see what God wants me to do and if He wants me to have the surgery when I should do so (April or Sept.) Thanks!

prayer request

My grandpa in Ohio had a mild heart attack the other day. He is 84 years old. He and his wife (my grandmother) live alone in there house. They are almost to the point that they can not care for each other alone anymore (especially my grandma while he is in hospital.) My grandma does have a nurse coming to house every day for physical therapy on her knee (she had it replaced.) But she is a diabetic and usually my grandpa helps her with her medicine.

Anyway this is all hard. They only have one son (my biological dad.) He lives in North Carolina & we live in NJ. So it is not easy to help them with day to day stuff.

Grandpa needs pray to heal and return home.

Grandma needs prayer for healing on knee.

They both need peace about possibly selling home or whatever is necessary.

My dad needs prayer because he has no idea what to do or how to help them in OHIO while he is in NC (plus he has a 8 month old baby now with his new girlfriend, so he can't just drive to Ohio anytime.)

I need prayer to know how if any way I can help.

Thanks! -Becky
